Vilo MP is a data mining and analysis tool which allows organizations to map data with keywords to search, reference, catalog, and report on key elements relevant to a specific organization.

VSD personnel are familiar with the Capability Maturity Model (CMM) and lean practices, and have taught the subject or assisted organizations and companies such as Space and Naval Warfare Center and CACI Federal Systems with obtaining their CMM Level 3 certification. VSD’s personnel have developed requirement specifications and various plans such as the Program Management Plans, Configuration Management Plans, Software Test Plans, and Software Test Reports.

In March of 2005, VSD was tasked with analyzing the vast majority of a United States Navy school’s training curricula for engineering.

VSD was provided with information for 119 individual courses, totaling over 15,000 hours of training. VSD’s main tasks were to determine differences and similarities in these courses and to analyze existing training objectives compared to new course objectives.

VSD used Vilo MP to solve this task. In doing so, this information analysis showed a potential reduction of 30% in the time required to train. The cost savings to the US Navy will be significant over time.
